Second Life of things

Author National Ethnographic Museum (Poland)

Place Warsaw

Date 2022

Long-term use – not throwing away, but repairing and valuing the long life of objects – persisted until the Second World War. Due to the scarcity of things, objects were cared for and efforts were made to ensure that they served man for as long as possible. If they could not serve their original purpose, then they were given a second life. Taking inspiration from objects of the past, we can reflect on the excess of objects around us.
